love watching Laura Bailey interviews where she talks about not initially realizing romance was an option in D&D, because the second she realized, she took it and absolutely sprinted on her way to make sure everybody knew romance was an option and that she was gonna win
if i had a nickel for every time laura bailey romanced a pc involved with delilah briarwood i’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it has happened twice.
Through the course of her duties as Elsa’s younger sister, Anna had developed both an interest and a knack for economics. Oh, she wasn’t the best economist in the world, but she was more than good enough to weigh up the pros and cons of any advice that she received from experts in the field. On several occasions, she had even made suggestions that had led to important and beneficial changes to legislation and economic policy.
It was thus not unusual that Claire would happen upon Anna in her study while the princess read through a bevy of reports that examined the kingdom’s economy and finances. The pink-haired woman settled down onto the opposite end of the couch that Anna was on and lifted Anna’s feet into her lap. As she so often did while reading, Anna had kicked off her shoes, leaving her feet clad in only her socks.
“More reports?” Claire tugged off Anna’s socks and began to massage her feet.
“Oh Dust, that feels good.” Anna put her reports aside and closed her eyes. “Your hands are magic.”
“And they could also blow off your feet if I used my Semblance.” Claire grinned. “So you shouldn’t let your guard down.”
“As if you’d blow off my feet.” Anna opened her eyes. “We both know you love me too much to do that.”
“I suppose you’re right.” Claire nodded at the reports. “So… how does it look?”
“Well, the kingdom is still rolling in money if that’s what you’re worried about.” Anna snickered. “You, my beloved wife, can continue living in the lap of luxury. With the new Dust strike that’s been identified and the swathes of farmland we’ve been able to establish in the reclaimed areas, things are looking very good. Of course, you know how Elsa is. She’s planning to use some of the new technology that’s been developed to help secure more of our coastal waters, so we can expand our fishing zones. We’ll have to manage things carefully to avoid overfishing, but it’s definitely doable.”
“That’s good to hear.” Claire stopped massaging Anna’s feet. Instead, her hands crept higher, caressing toned calves before making their way under the princess’s dress to her knees. “Do you have anything else scheduled for this afternoon?”
“I believe that my schedule is quite clear.” Anna shivered as Claire’s fingers continued their journey upward. “You know, you’d have a much easier time if you simply pulled me into your lap.”
“Is that so?” Claire grinned and did just that. “Happy?”
It occurred to Anna that attempting to overpower Claire was a very bad idea. Unfortunately for Anna, it occurred to her roughly three seconds after she leapt at her wife and tried to wrestle her onto the bed.
Instead of Claire ending up on the bed at Anna’s mercy, it was Anna who ended up on her stomach on the bed with Claire hovering over her like a pink-haired harbinger of doom. To make matters worse, Claire was not only a lot stronger than her but Anna also had zero leverage to help her out.
“You really need to work on your surprise attacks,” Claire drawled. “I grew up around Diana. She used to hide in cupboards, climb onto the ceiling, and Dust knows what else to try and surprise me. Simply jumping at me is not going to cut it.”
“Unhand me, cretin!”
“Cretin? I’m your wife.” Claire snickered and pressed a kiss to Anna’s ear. “But now that I have you at my mercy, I find that I’m a little reluctant to let you go.” She reached down with one hand and stroked Anna’s hip before giving her shapely posterior a gentle squeeze. The red-haired woman’s skirt had ridden up during the struggle, and Claire tugged it higher still. “Garters, Anna? You tried to ambush me in garters?”
“I happen to think they’re very sexy.”
“I happen to agree, but they’re hardly practical for fighting in. Oh, well. I’m not complaining.” Claire made a thoughtful sound and ran her hand up the inside of Anna’s thigh, drawing a shiver from her wife. “Now, I could let you go. But being the cretin I am, I think I’ll take advantage of you instead.”
“What? That’s not right. I was going to take advantage of you!” Anna tried to buck Claire off, but the taller woman simply laughed and shifted her hips, pressing Anna into the bed before taking a firm hold of Anna’s hands and crossing her wrists behind her back. “I should probably tie you up. You’ll be less of a handful that way, which should let me get more of a handful.”
Anna snarled. “Could you stop that? I swear you always make the most atrocious puns after hanging out with Yang.”
“Hey, I happen to think my puns are awesome, and Yang agrees.”
“You’re both idiots.”
“Heh. I’ve been tested. I’m not exactly my Aunt Vanille in the intelligence department, but I’m well above average.” Claire glanced around for a moment before catching sight of the handcuffs on the bedside table. “Handcuffs? You did plan ahead. It’s just a shame you suck at ambushing people.”
“You suck!” Anna fired back as Claire put the handcuffs off her.
“Well, not yet.” Claire grinned impishly and leaned over to whisper in Anna’s ear. “But maybe later, if you behave and I’m feeling generous.”
Anna had always been the sort of person who liked to poke things with a stick. Oh, she knew that poking things with a stick was usually a bad idea, but she just couldn’t help herself. It had gotten her into no end of trouble over the years, and it had only gotten worse when she’d married Claire.
Claire was always so easygoing and affable. Anna wasn’t sure if she’d ever seen her get mad as opposed to mildly irritated or exasperated. Anna wanted to know what Claire would be like when she was truly angry. Would Claire’s anger give way to burning rage, or would it be cold fury?
The answer, it turned out, was a bit of both.
“Claire -”
“Quiet,” Claire hissed, pinning Anna’s hands above her head and hoisting her up against the wall. “You don’t get to talk.”
“But -”
“You. Don’t. Get. To. Talk.” Claire’s blue eyes, normally so warm, had taken on the kind of hardness that Anna had only ever seen when Diana got really, really, really pissed off.
Anna stopped trying to talk.
“I’d like to think that you were completely oblivious to what was going on back there, but I know you, Anna.” Claire leaned forward, jaw clenched. It was at times like this that Anna was all too aware of how much taller Claire was than her, of how much stronger she was. “You’re not that oblivious. Hell, even Averia isn’t, and she can be as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to stuff like that.” Claire bared her teeth. “You knew that she was flirting with you, and you encouraged her. And you made sure that I could see everything.”
Anna swallowed thickly. Her brilliant plan to get Claire mad was suddenly seemingly less than brilliant. In her head, this was where she revealed that the whole thing was just a way to see what Claire was like when she got angry. Then they’d both laugh it off. Right now, however, it didn’t seem like a game at all. Claire’s Aura was wild and turbulent, and Anna could feel the wall behind her trembling ever so slightly as Claire’s normally ironclad control over her Semblance wavered.
Dust, Claire wasn’t just mad. She was furious, as in grab her bow and put a dozen arrows in her enemies before lighting them on fire furious.
“I had to put up with seeing that all evening, Anna. All evening. I have half a mind to bend you over my knee and spank you because if you’re going to act like that, then you deserve to be punished.” Claire’s lips curled. “It’s not often that I find myself feeling this possessive, but what can I say? You obviously wanted my attention. Now you have it. All of it.”
Anna gingerly tried to break free. Claire’s grip was like iron.
“You’re not going anywhere, Anna.” Claire glanced to the side, and her gaze settled on the table not far from the fireplace. “Not until I’ve reminded you that you’re mine.”
Part of the reason I want to see a straight-up college setting magical girl show is that I legitimately think a lot of the standard storylines would work better that way, but another part of it is that I just want to witness the drama of trying to balance magical girl antics with a full courseload. All staggering into Calculus 200 looking like hell because they were fighting zombie squid all night. Striking up a friendship with another girl based on a mutual misunderstanding where they think she’s a fellow magical girl, but she thinks they’re just really into the party scene, which eventually arouses her suspicions because they’re rolling up every morning totally wrecked from the night before, but she never sees them at any of the same parties.
“On the prowl again last night?”
“Is it that obvious? It was a hell of a time.”
“I feel you, sis. Here, I have something that’ll fix you right up…. I must have just missed you, where did you end up? Not on campus for sure.”
“What? No, there’s never anything going on here. The railway yard is the current hotspot.”
“Oh damn, yeah that makes a lot more sense, I saw the lights from downtown.”
“You did? I’ll have to tone it down next time I guess.”
“Don’t even! Give it your all, girl, you inspire me to push myself just as hard.”
• They are one of the most intelligent birds on the planet - they can solve tasks, play tricks on other animals and can count
• Ravens can imitate human speech just like parrots
• They can reach 2 feet in size from head to tail - bigger than some cats
• Ravens do things just for fun, such as sliding down snowy hills, swooping when flying, and they even build their own toys out of sticks and rocks
• People who have owned ravens have said they are cat-like in nature and can be very cuddly and affectionate, but can throw a strop when they don’t get their way
• Science has found that ravens can communicate by “gesturing”, and point their beak in certain directions to tell other ravens where to go
• When they reach adolescence, ravens leave their parents to find other teenage ravens and join “teenage gangs”
• Ravens are monogamous and mate for life
• Although they have been seen for centuries to represent death and sadness, ravens are compassionate, loving animals and will console their raven friends if they have been injured
All in all, ravens are amazing and beautiful animals!
They replaced the Colston Statue in Bristol with a sculpture of one of the protestors who stood on the plinth once he was felled, and it’s beautiful. It’s not permanent- but it should be.
To be fair 99% of our evolutionary stress response was meant to deal with far more immediately conclusive scenarios than the tedious bullshit we put up with these days.
very very slow tigers are chasing me
not to leave a serious comment on a silly post but one of the best pieces of advice I ever got about stress was to SLEEP but secondly, when overwhelmed, lay in a bed and intentionally hold all your muscles clenched. clench EVERYTHING. hold it for a few seconds, then let go. It tricks your animal fight-or-flight monkey brain into thinking it had, and won, a fight, and some of the stress response will leave you
#turn a slow tiger into a fast tiger with this fucked up trick
Ok so like in the avatar world you would thing that waterbenders would be the fire fighters right? Like a bunch a of waterbenders just getting water from a lake or a river and dousing the fire. But you know what’s better? Firebender fire fighters. Just like someone’s house catches on fire and firebenders just… turn it off,,.. Just like no, the fire is done for today
honestly this would be a much better solution because you could avoid all the water damage
